With team building, emotions and inspiration, we gave the start of the youth exchange „New opportunities for people with disabilities“, held by „Special Olympics“.
The participants started the day with getting to know each other and names games. After everybody was feeling more comfortable, the day continued with more ice – breaking activities and name puzzles with the aim to make the participants know more about each others backgrounds. Also, the participants had the opportunity to share their fears and exceptions for the project and learn more about what is non – formal education and the Erasmus+ programme.
After lunch and good rest, the day continued with discussions and reviwing of the rules of the youth exchange to make sure that the particpants are feeling safe and comfortable.
Later, that day, the local participants gave a tour for the participants in the famous park „Kailuka“ in Pleven in order to make everybody feel more comfortable with the environment and get to know the place they are spending the next days at. There, the youngsters, had a lot of fun, doing the team – building „paper rocket“ challenge.
At the end of the day, after dinner, we had a lot of fun, great food and dancing and learned new things about Turkey, at the Turkish intercultural night.
